Decide to Think On These Things

"We are as happy as we decide to be." - Abraham Lincoln

Today I watched a video about how it is important and almost our obligation that we should be happy or pleasant to other people.  Truly actually try to be happy and not "rain" on other people.  Our bad moods affect others around us and a bad mood is imposing on others.

We can control our moods and how we present to others.
When we shore up and decide to give life our best,
we change our thoughts, attitudes, and our mood follows.
It is really up to us.

Another video I watched today was from a coaching site and the thought was that it really is about our "thoughts".  Other people don't "make" us sad, mad, glad.
It is actually what action/thought we have about what another says
or does that forms our opinion and mood.
"They"  do not make us "anything".
They do their thing and then what we do with it is within ourselves.
The perception and emotions we attach to it are what makes us feel, react, or act the way we do.
We have a choice.  We always have a choice.
Look at Corrie Ten Boom and the choices she made in the concentration camp.  There is always a choice.  No one can get in our brain and our hearts unless we let them.

That's why the Bible says to guard our hearts and minds.  These determine how our life will be.
Think on the good things.  Think the best.

Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.  NIV
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.   NLT

Philippians 4:8
Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things. ESV
