..that is the question!
I've realized that the benefits of having a rummage sale
have nothing to do with profit or time efficiency!!
The true benefits are not monetary, but are indeed worth the time and energy.
Time spent with dear ones to get it ready and reminisce about the things that you've finally decided you don't "need" anymore, and
time sitting on a sunny day enjoying the company of friends and neighbors that stop by to say hi and even strangers that are browsing and "would-ya, could-ya-ing".
The Rule of Thumb for people who shop garage sales is...
always ask for 1/2 of what the tag says and if that doesn't work,
ask if you can buy the whole pile for $5,
which usually comes out to less than half..Ha!!
Quick-math isn't my specialty...where is that calculator?!!
So, after a beautiful spring day with cottonseed flying around like a snow-globe
(yes, some is still in my hair),
I lightened the load of stuff...donated 3x what we actually sold...
had enough cash, to go out for dinner and pick up some more...you got it... "stuff"!!
oh, and some Starbucks treat money, too!
Sweet Success in all matters of real importance!
I totally agree!
